For the first time, two solo female directors broke through with DGA Award nominations in the commercialmaking category--Nisha Ganatra of Chelsea Pictures and Melina Matsoukas of PRETTYBIRD. TV Awards Season - Directors & Cinematographers
Whether or not the DGA and ASC Awards are a preview of Emmy nominations to come is a matter of conjecture.
